METEOROLOGY

Millard meteorological masts are ideal for their simplicity and reliable performance.  The masts are ICAO frangibility compliant through 3rd party full-scale impact testing.  Standard designs are for heights 2.25m, 3m, 6m and 10m, but other solutions are available.

WINDSOCKS

Millard offers a complete line of frangible windsock masts that are safe, easy to use and durable.  The mast and its mechanical features offer a typical life expectancy of 20+ years.  Typical heights are 3m and 6m although other heights are available.

  • ICAO compliant as verified through 3rd party full-scale impact testing
  • Built for 170km/h wind and 12.5mm ice loading and not subject to fatigue or deformation as with pole-style masts
  • Resistant to extreme UV and saltwater exposure
  • Tilt base option allows for mast and windsock to be installed on the ground and raised into position by hand
  • Center hinge option allows the wind cone to be serviced from the ground by a single technician using a worm gear winch

FRANGIBLE ILS

Millard’s complete line of ILS masts provides reliable performance for critical airfield equipment ensuring that specified deflection criteria is met.  Millard also supplies installation kits to allow equipment to be installed and adjusted with ease.  As with all of Millard Frangible Aviation masts, ILS masts are ICAO compliant, have a typical lifespan of 25+ years and are backed by an industry best 10-year warranty.

  • Far-Field Monitors
  • DME Antennas

Custom mounts can be fabricated in-house by Millard ensuring full system integration.

COMMUNICATION

Millard engineers and manufactures guyed masts to support antennas of all varieties, including HF, VHF and UHF arrangements.  Masts are made from marine-grade Aluminum alloy and favoured for their simple design, easy installation and rugged durability.  Standard heights available up to 60m.

  • Engineered per CSA S37-13 – Antennas, Towers and Antenna-Supporting Structures
  • Fabricated in 3m lengths, weighing between 8kg and 35kg
  • Masts are light enough to be transported to site by hand or helicopter
  • Optional gin pole, boom or hinge base assemblies allow masts to be erected without a crane and with as few as two workers
  • Optional ladder, fall arrest kits, climb guards, lightning kits, obstruction lighting and mounting brackets are available
